"I grew up in Washington, Iowa listening to "The Escorts/Do's and Don'ts" with Roger and the group--They are "Hometown Heroes". I remember "rockin" to all their stuff in almost every town around. Roger's "Wobble Drum" was really popular. They are a piece of Iowa history."--Rick Lampkin

"Great job New Years Eve. We have had nothing but rave reviews."--Wilda Solberg
El Kahir Shrine

"Dear Rick,
Thanks again for a wonderful night of great music and a fun night of dancing. We always enjoy your music. Your band really rocks!!"--Peggy Decker

"Oh my gosh..I finally found you. I've searched Google before but for some reason you didn't come up. "I Wonder If She Loves Me" is one of my most favorite songs from my high school years. I long ago wore out my 45, but dubbed it to CD, scratches and all. It's so great to get an MP3 copy!
Can you email the lyrics? I have always had trouble with one or two lines.
I don't think I mentioned where I knew the songs from. I grew up in Moline, and was glued to 1170 KSTT. I remember they kept saying this was a group from Cedar Rapids. Though I now live in Springfield, IL, I'm in the Quad-Cities often, since I have children, grandchildren, and other family there. I also get to Iowa City a couple of times a year, so I'll watch for your engagements in both places.
Finally, I was playing "I Wonder If She Loves Me" the other day and my wife, who was not familiar with you, asked: "Is that Elvis?" I hope you know that's quite a compliment!
I wish you the best,"--Bill Callaway

"Hi Roger and all, I am stuck in Ottumwa Iowa now instead of Washington Iowa, the best times I have ever had is dancing to you all at the Wellman skating rink and up at Cedar Rapids. I heard you were there recently, wish I could of been there. Just have to look at the pic and autographs that I got when I saw you's in CR. thank you all very much.
Sincerely,"--Cindy Lou (Wilkins) Davis

"Rick,
Can you tell where I can get prices on tickets to the Turtles. By the way congrats on getting booked to be the (warm up band for the Turtles). You can bet we are going to get tickets, even though it's on a Wednesday nite, I'll just hold my eyes open with toothpicks the next day.
Congrats again,"--Mary and Dave Holliday

"Hello Escorts/Do's and Don'ts
I'm a huge fan of your band and have never seen you play...
I remember the name back in the 60's when I first started out playing in bands myself...
You were very respected and well known..
I've had my band ROZE together since the early to mid 70's..So I understand what goes into keeping a band up and running at the level you have been doing it for so many years...
I think it's great that your still going strong in a business that isn't known for longevity..
I understand how much you enjoy what you do and want to congratulate your band on it's induction into the Iowa Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame...I can understand why you were one of the first bands inducted..I hope my band ROZE is inducted someday as well....
It's bands like yours that helped to pave the way for all the other bands out there in Iowa...
Thanks for all you have done for Iowa Rock and Roll...."--Randy for the band ROZE

"Imagine how thrilled everyone is to finally get this music. I about went nuts. Takes me back to the old National Guard Amory in Washington and the Legion Hall in Keota. What times."--Kay Redlinger

"Hi! Just wanted to take a few minutes and type you and tell you that me and my boyfriend attended the dance in Keystone last night (December 18) at Turner hall and had a fantastic time. We had not heard your band for quite awhile, probably since last spring in Cedar Rapids, Gilligan's, and were definitely ready to hear you again. But just wanted to say that we would not have known anything about your playing in Keystone if I had not received e-mails from you band telling me about the places you were going to be playing. I don't know how all the people knew about it that were there, but thought there was a good crowd and everyone had a good time. I have heard your band in Swisher and Belle Plaine also in the last few years. I want to get to "Lets Dance" in CR sometime and hear you. Keep up the good work. I play accordion and saxophone and appreciate you musicians that perform up there and know a little bit about what goes into it. Thanks for a fun night and hopefully you can come there again to Keystone, or Belle Plaine. That would be great. Keep up the good work!"--anonymous fan D.V.

"We really like your new CD. Sounds good!"--Bill and Cheryl Brunscheen

"Wanted to drop you a line and let you know how much Mike and I enjoyed the band at the Belle Plaine Legion Hall 11/29. We also are very excited that you are willing to play at our wedding dance Sept 25th 2004. The Turner Hall will be bopping that night. We are expecting a large crowd... we are estimating maybe 500 people. "--Lorie Hennings

"Thanks so much for the good time Saturday evening. People are still commenting how great the band was and what a good time it was. My friend Lois gave us one of your tapes so we can enjoy your music any time now. "--Deb Weigel
